Caroline Cournoyer, RTT CMD
Medical Dosimetrist
As a board-certified Medical Dosimetrist, Ms. Cournoyer works
with the Maddock Center’s radiation oncologists and medical
physicist to develop treatment plans for patients undergoing
radiation therapy. In concert with the physicians and physicists,
Ms. Cournoyer calculates radiation dose distributions by performing
complex computations to deliver a prescribed dose to a defined
volume of tissue. Ms. Cournoyer is also responsible for coordinating
all treatment simulations including the planning of custom shields
and wedges used to spare normal tissue during treatment. Additional
responsibilities include radiation safety and quality assurance.
She has been with the Maddock Center for almost 20 years.
Ms. Cournoyer is an active member of the Rhode Island Society
of Radiologic Technologists, the New England Society of Radiation
Therapists, the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and
the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists.
Ms. Cournoyer graduated from the Community College of Rhode
Island and trained at Rhode Island Hospital. Ms. Cournoyer is
also a board-certified radiation therapy technologist with more
than 15 years of clinical experience.
