Ultrasound-guided target localization
Ultrasound-guided target localization has brought new levels
of accuracy to the treatment process. This painless, non-invasive
technology pinpoints the precise position of a tumor right at
the time of treatment. The Maddock Center was first in Rhode
Island to install this system, which is invaluable for the treatment
of breast, prostate and other cancers below the head.
This advanced, high-precision method gives a real-time 3-D reconstruction
of the target location, enabling Dr. Maddock or Dr. Lane to position
your body in such a way that treatment is delivered exactly to
the isocenter of the tumor.
Ultrasound-guided target localization is compatible with various
treatment planning systems. |
